Software Engineer

We believe, in a developing region like Africa, where we have one doctor for every 25000 people, having efficient, scalable and widely accessible healthcare services can make a huge difference and save millions of lives. We started working on this problem because we have experienced it ourselves, both as patients and as doctors, with the root cause being the broken, highly fragmented and complex healthcare systems.

It is for this reason that we started Medikea, a healthcare technology company that is building Africa’s first patient-centric healthcare system that puts the patients first. Starting with primary and preventive care, Medikea leverages on the power of technology to offer a personalized, end-to-end healthcare experience from consultation, to diagnosis, delivery of medication, and specialist referrals. Medikea is currently seeking a full-time Head of Engineering to build our tech stack from ground-up. We’re looking for an extremely talented software engineer who possesses that much sought balance of competence and compassion, and who doesn't cut corners when it comes to patient care. Ideally, you'll have the opportunity to build tools and technologies to improve people's health and save millions of lives.

What you’ll build

Our first rule of thumb in everything we do or decision we make on a daily basis - Insane obsession to customers.

• Beautiful, easy-to-use, mobile first consumer experiences for booking, onboarding, and virtual care (video, audio and chat).
• Custom Electronic Health Records, that makes it easy for our in-house doctors to create e-health profile for every customer
• Management portal for our third party partners

What we are looking from you

• Relevant experience in building scalable & maintainable web and mobile apps.
• A computer science degree is a plus but not necessary.
• Ability building/managing technical teams.
• Ability to accomplish tasks/projects at one-third a time most competent people think possible.
