Specific Roles: Handling accounting activities including;  Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.  Respond to accounting inquiries from donors and management in a timely fashion  Monitor expenditures and determine budget variances to ensure funds are utilized as per budget activities.  Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions to management  Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations  Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.  Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures to comply with donor requirements  Generate financial reports and statements to managing director for reviews  Coordinate with project team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.  Keeping records of the payroll of employees with all the relevant details.  Filling taxes and statutory deductions monthly

Preparing payment vouchers, making sure that all necessary documentations (such as invoices, POs, Delivery Notes) are attached for approval before payments are done  Carrying out all bank transactions, including withdrawing cash, submission of bank authority letters, collection of bank statements, depositing receipts, and other functions  Recording approved transactions into the accounting system and ensure expenses are allocated appropriately into their budgeted categories  Generation of reports from accounting systems for preparation of financial reports to management, donors and other parties  Preparation of monthly invoices to sub-contractors for Executive Director Approvals and coordinating with the Coordinator to ensure the invoices are submitted to sub-contractors and donors in time for cost reimbursement or transfers of funds.  Assisting Executive Director in cash forecasting to ensure funds availability for Organization’s activities.  Preparing monthly and annual statutory returns  Effecting payment of statutory deductions (PAYE and NSSF) to relevant authorities by due dates  Assisting the Executive Director in the preparation of disbursement documents for salaries.  Maintaining Accounting Department filing system  Provide requisite cooperation with accounting and audit organizations regarding external audits and reviews.
